Day one · pale to copper
Water, then stone
Begin on the slow water at first pale. One hour looking at a single bank. Late morning, enter the stone lanes from the shaded side. Eat standing. Rest through white heat. Copper hour on a courtyard roof if you are invited; otherwise a window will do.
Day two · wind
Leave the city before it wakes
Travel toward the wind basin while the road is empty. Walk the lee of ridges. Do not collect crests. Return when the light goes apricot. Evening: salt on the tongue, a quiet meal, no recap for anyone who was not there.
Day three · salt or stillness
Choose one horizon
Either the salt line at first pale, or a full idle day of high courtyards and reading. Both are complete routes. Combining them is how a traveller turns a hush into a contest.
Always
A spare morning
Keep one morning unplanned. If you fill every hour, you have packed a brochure. The unnamed walk needs a hole in the timetable the size of a long coffee.
