1. Who we are

We operate a static editorial website: field notes, routes, journal essays, and related pages. We do not run user accounts. We are the controller of information you send us on purpose.

2. What we collect

1. Letters you send. Name, email address, topic, and message submitted through the contact form or emailed to [email protected]. We use this only to reply.
2. Calls. If you telephone +201098577019, we process the number presented by the network and whatever you choose to tell us, in order to answer your request.
3. Technical crumbs. A consent record stored in your browser (see the cookie policy). Our pages are static; we do not run a hidden profile of your walks.
4. Server logs (if any). Our hosting provider may keep ordinary connection logs (time, browser type, requested file) to keep the site available and secure. Those logs are not used for marketing.

3. Why we process it

To answer editorial enquiries, to remember cookie choices, to operate and protect eg-online.me, and to meet legal duties that apply to us in Egypt or elsewhere if a request requires it. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it to rank or advertise unnamed landscapes as products.

4. How long we keep it

Correspondence is kept as long as the conversation is active and then for a reasonable archive period (typically up to twenty-four months) unless a longer period is required for a dispute or legal claim. Cookie choices remain until you clear site data. Hosting logs follow the provider’s ordinary rotation.

5. Sharing

We share information only with service providers who host the site or carry email, and only as needed to operate Vast Quiet; with advisers or authorities if the law requires; or with a person you ask us to copy. We do not pass lists of readers to advertisers.

6. Transfers

eg-online.me may be hosted on infrastructure outside Egypt. By writing to us or using the site, you understand that your message may be processed where our host and mailbox live. We take reasonable steps to work with providers who protect information in transit.

7. Your choices

You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete correspondence that is no longer needed. Email [email protected]. If you believe your rights are not respected, you may contact the competent authority in your country as well as writing to the desk.

8. Children

The atlas is written for a general adult readership. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this page. The date at the top will change. Continued use of eg-online.me after an update means the new text applies to later visits.
